When I stopped dreaming and started planning, my life was set into motion.
If you’re curious about the journey of a young woman traveling her way through life and Southeast Asia, you’ve come to the right place.
My name is Emily. I’m a solo traveling, introverted, sassy, and highly sarcastic twenty-something year old from the United States. I generally look unapproachable, but that’s just my face.
I’m currently traveling around Southeast Asia, but I will be settling down in Vietnam starting in June to teach English. I have my BA in English, and I minored in Professional Education.
I’m here to share with you the ups and downs of my travels; I strive to demonstrate real, authentic experiences. I’m not trying to sell you anything. I’m not going to feed you the stuff you want to hear or fluff anything up. Everything I write is based off of my real experiences; you might learn something, you might not. All of the posts I have that recommend specific places are people or places I’ve built relationships with and promote them for the sake of my love for them.
I am a solo traveler.
I go alone, plan alone, eat alone, and love every minute of it! But I live to make connections with others. I make friends wherever I go, though I can be pretty introverted sometimes. I enjoy traveling alone and pushing myself to do things that I would not normally do.
I base what I write from my own experiences to communicate how effortlessly one can build a relationship with a place that is not his or her home. Most of the cities I’ve been to were so easy to fall in love within just a short amount of time. Everywhere I’ve been, I long to return to.
Where I’ve Been:
I’ve been all over Europe and am just getting into Southeast Asia.
Some of my favorite places are Vietnam, Spain, Slovenia, Portugal, Czech Republic, Albania, and Ireland.
Nice to meet you! Follow along on my journey in any way you’d like.
